DOWN & OUT BOOKS ACQUIRES BITE HARDER

Down & Out Books is proud to announce the paperback release of Bite Harder by Anonymous-9

(pen name of Elaine Ash). Bite Harder is the second novel in an unusual but highly acclaimed series chronicling the hardboiled antics of a paraplegic vigilante and his deadly monkey partner tracking and killing hit and run drivers in Los Angeles.

The paperback will debut October 15th, 2014 with cover art by designer JT Lindroos. The first author signing event is slated for Bouchercon’s Murder at the Beach convention the week of November 10th in Long Beach, California.

Anonymous-9 is the winner of Spinetingler Magazine’s Best Short Story on the Web 2009 and a two-time nominee for the Thriller Award sponsored by the International Thriller Writers as well as the Derringer Award sponsored by The Short Mystery Fiction Society.

Praise for Bite Harder is pouring in.

“Brilliant, brutally funny, so real you can taste it. Starring the finest serial-killing helper monkey in all fiction.”—Douglas Lindsay, The Long Midnight of Barney Thomson, soon to be a major motion picture starring Emma Thompson

“If Tim Dorsey got shot out of a cannon and landed in Los Angeles he might write something like Bite Harder...”—Les Edgerton, The Genuine, Imitation, Plastic Kidnapping

“Bite Harder is part screwball comedy, part killer crime story entirely unlike anything else out there. It is unique and vicious and bloody funny but what kept me turning pages deep into the night was its heart. I loved Hard Bite, and Bite Harder is even better, stronger, wilder.”—Josh Stallings, Beautiful, Naked & Dead, Anthony Award nominee

“Few books have a killer monkey, and fewer still have a writer as funny, incisive, and down-and-dirty brilliant as Anonymous-9.”—Benjamin Whitmer, Pike, Cry Father
